FEMA and ADEM:

FEMA audit scheduled for 06/14/2010
·
Completed all project worksheets and submitted to FEMA-
waiting on U.S. Congress to appropriate money.

Completed ICS 300 & 400 classes and test.
Regular staff:
·
One crew on ROW clearing and culvert cleanout.
·
Two crews pot holing & sign work.
·
One crew digging soft spots adding base rock +/-1600 tons to
Chitola Dr., Hidasta Cr., & Immokalee Dr.
·
One crew reshaping ditches and repairing shoulders. Prepared
6.2 miles of road for asphalt mix.
·
Cleaned debris twice from Golf Course Bridge.
·
Bladed cold mix: Hernando Dr, Topez Dr. & Katsina Cr.
·
Three mowers on ROW.
Maintenance Department:
·
Completed multiple repairs and oil/filter changes.
·
Serviced and repaired vehicles from FEMA projects.
General:
·
Responded to 84 resident calls for repair or assistance.
·
Installed 11 street & stop signs, cleaned and straightened 72.
·
Advertised for bids on excavator and mulching head and hot mix
overlay.

Cherokee
Village Senior Center
You are invited to visit the Senior Center. It is located in the Village
Center next to City Hall. Center hours are 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday thru
Thursday. Lunch is served each day at 11:30 AM at a cost of $2.00 for those
over sixty and $3.50 for those under sixty. Children and grandchildren over
sixteen are always welcome.
They have a lot of fun activities such as card games are played each day.
The Senior Center is happy and proud that they can provide a computer
center that is available each day. A computer club meets there the second
and fourth Tuesday of each month.
The Hobby Club meets there the second and fourth Thursday of each month.
A library and videos are available for use.
